KDDC Fall Tour to Wisconsin & the World Dairy Expo Oct. 1-4, 2019
You are invited to participate in the 2019 Young Dairy Producer Tour of the World Dairy Expo. The tour is sponsored by the Ky Dairy Development Council and cosponsored by Ky Agricultural Development Fund and the Ky Dept of Agriculture. Other sponsors will be announced at a later date. The hosts are H H Barlow, KDDC and Eunice Schlappi, Ky Dept of Agriculture.
• Oct 1 (Tues) -8:00 a.m. - Leave from Quality Inn in Elizabethtown -Travel to Madison, WI -stopping at one farm on the way up (pending)
• Oct 2 (Wed) -(3-4) farm stops in the Madison, Wisconsin area
• Oct 3 (Thurs) -World Dairy Expo
• Oct 4 (Fri) -farm stop (pending) and travel back to Kentucky, Arriving that evening (Fri.) at approximately 7:00-10:00 p.m. in Elizabethtown.
Participants will gain educational insight into practices that other successful dairy producers are utilizing. The tour also provides the opportunity to build friendships and relationships with producers and other representatives in the dairy industry.
The tour is open to everyone including young dairy producers, all other dairy producers and dairy industry representatives. Priority will be given first to young dairy producers, KDDC board members and dairy farmers and then industry representatives.
Young Dairy Producer –$150 per person ($50 is non-refundable) limit 2 per farm at $150 and additional members at $300 each
**Young Dairy Producer: 40 years or younger and/or must have been involved in management decisions on the farm for 10 years or less**
KDDC board members $150 per person ($50 is non-refundable)
All Other Dairy farmers - $300 per person ($50 is non-refundable)
Industry representatives - non-tour sponsor - $600 per person ($50 is non-refundable)
Industry representatives - tour sponsor of $1,000 -$1499- $300 per person ($50 is non-refundable)
Industry representatives - $1,500 tour sponsor – no charge (one person)
All of the hotel expenses, most meals, and transportation to Wisconsin are covered. Some meals and incidentals may not be included. Couples are encouraged to attend and singles may be asked to share rooms. Minimum age is 13 to be able to attend (please contact us if an exception is requested – DO NOT BRING ADDITIONAL ATTENDEES WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL.
